L is for Lovelight (Cordello Quest A-Z Series) and …. Happy Birthday, Lazuli Portals!

Despite the importance of lovelight in The Lazuli Portals trilogy, I’ve found it difficult to write about it for this blog post series – I don’t want to give away too much to potential readers who haven’t read the books yet! (Spoilers are something I really do prefer to avoid!)

Hopefully we’ve still done it justice. 🙂

In Cordello, lovelight is a precious energy: a beautiful synergy of the life force energy which is available to us all, and love – the feeling or approach or state which is accepting, compassionate, grateful, open, allowing, and supportive. It is a conscious collaboration of the highest and purest kind. No wonder lovelight in Cordello feels so magical!

As with anything deemed valuable, there are often others who wish to find a way to acquire it and twist it for their own ends. This is one of the key conflicts in The Cordello Quest, and the outcome could change everything for the peaceful country of Cordello.

Soon after Keira arrives there, Lord Charls explains that his country is under threat, and that boosting lovelight yet further may be vital in saving it.

“Keira, the Cordellan strength is in working together and in working with our positive energies. In creating lovelight, in spreading it to raise the energy of all others.

If we can raise it high enough, with sufficient focus and intention, it is possible that we can forestall any attack, and find a peaceful resolution. That is why you have come.”

Before she knows it, Keira finds herself in the quest to save lovelight. In the process, she discovers more wonders than she could ever have dreamed of…

During her time in Cordello, Keira also learns about lovelight globes, although making them is a skill she will need to practice. These globes are based on an energy tool I use called the Orb of Life (I received my original Orb, with instructions, from my Reiki Master).

I’ve since ‘made’ well over a hundred of these little spherical stores of universal energy – most for past clients, friends, and family – and use mine daily. They practically wrote themselves into our series! You can read more about Orbs of Life in the Bonus Section of our website.

As with Orbs of Life, making the lovelight globes in Cordello is one thing, but using them is something else altogether. Aligning clear intentions and purity of spirit with lovelight or life-force energy can be a pretty potent combination, especially if it’s for the benefit of the wider world! In the case of Cordello, working in this way is a major part of what life is all about!

Oh, and before we forget, today marks our partnership’s sixth ‘birthday’ (Ron says it feels much longer than that lol). So happy birthday, Lazuli Portals, and may you go from strength to strength, bringing even more insight, lovelight, and reading pleasure to your readers with each year that passes.

Please help yourself to a little slice of calorie-free virtual birthday cake. 🙂

We hope you enjoyed this post! Please Like and/or Leave A Comment if you feel so inclined. Shares are greatly appreciated, too!

An Interview with an Ascended Reikan

We started our Cordello Quest A-Z blog series back in 2013 with an introduction to Ascended Reikans. Later, as part of a promotional guest post, we ‘interviewed’ one of our favourite characters from The Cordello Quest: the wonderful Ascended Reikan, Lady Aida.

We thought it’d be fun to share her interview again, right here on our own Lazuli Portals blog, so that our newer readers have the opportunity to see it.

So here we go! 🙂

An Interview with Lady Aida

Joanna: Hello, Lady Aida, thank you for agreeing to answer a few questions.

Lady Aida: I’m pleased to be here, Joanna and Ron. Thank you for having me.

Joanna: First of all, what’s it like being an Ascended Reikan?

Lady Aida: It’s extremely rewarding. My assignment has been interesting, to say the least. Being able to offer guidance to awakening humans is a joy.

Ron: Lady Aida, when you were writing in your journal – the one used by Keira when she was in Cordello – did you have any idea that it would become so important?

Lady Aida: No, not at all. Writing the journal was simply my way of making sense of my learning, and tracking my own development in the use of crystals, lovelight and intuition. I was heartened to see that Keira gained so much from my own experiences.

Joanna: When you were working with crystals, did you ever have a favourite?

Lady Aida: I would not have been able to choose, my dear. Their frequencies are different, and each has its own value. It would be like asking me to choose a favourite niece or nephew. I do have a fondness for the quartz crystals, however, and appreciated the warm tones and shades of the Tiger’s Eye.

Ron: Of all the places you’ve seen, do you have a favourite?

Lady Aida: Cordello, without a doubt. True, I have travelled to many worlds, seen many wonderful things. And I was very fond of Reika, of course. But . . . Cordello is home, and I am always glad to return to its green valleys and to my own people.

Joanna: What is your favourite colour?

Lady Aida: I have no favourite, dear. All colour is light, and to choose from among the light is not possible.

Ron: If you could be any animal, what would you choose?

Lady Aida: I believe I would choose to be an eagle. Soaring high, with wide perspectives and clear sight. I am fond of flying, as you know.

Joanna: A final question for you, Lady Aida. Do you have a favourite word?

Lady Aida: Oh yes, dear. It is Love.

Joanna: I should have known you’d say that! Thank for your time, Lady Aida.

Lady Aida: It’s been a pleasure. Goodbye.

Do you have a favourite character from our Lazuli Portals series? If so, who is it?

Cordello Quest

C is for Cordello

For earlier posts in this series, please see:

A = Ascended Reikan

B = Battle

In this extract from The Cordello Quest, Keira relates her first sight of Cordello:

From our elevated position, I could see down and across the valley. In one glance I took in the expanse of lush, vivid green foliage, punctuated by huge bell–shaped flowers in carmine, orange, purple and white, and many shades in between. The enormous flowering shrubs, when seen close–to, reminded me of rhododendrons. Their brilliant colours were beautifully offset by the glossy mid– and deep–green leaves; all of the plants looked incredibly healthy and vigorous.

Here and there, nestling shyly between the vast forests of glossy foliage, I could see signs of habitation – snippets of a curving path or road, an occasional hamlet or village peeking from its cradle of greenery. One wider pathway led down from where I stood, snaking its way through the valley.

But Cordello’s magic is not simply in its lush foliage, its ancient woodland, or its hidden lakes and waterfalls. Cordello’s beauty is in its people, in their cooperation, in their shared focus on love and learning, and working with universal energy for the higher good.

birds of peace

Cordello is home to Lord Charls and his people – including Julianna and her young son, Tobin, and Roanne, who becomes so important to Keira.

And, of course, Cordello is home to lovelight, that precious energy which enables the Cordellans to live harmoniously in their beautiful country. (A future blog post, L is for Lovelight, will cover this in more detail.)

It’s been tricky writing a post about this wonderful place in a way which – we hope – won’t spoil the experience of discovery for those who have not yet read The Cordello Quest! We’ve given it our best shot . . . how did we do? 😉

Shall we write the next in the series?

P.S. Other Cs we could have chosen: Crystal, Cornwall, Cavern or Charls. But how could we not use Cordello! 😀

B is for Battle

Crystal Man with Sword

This post is the second in an A-Z series linked with the first novel in our series: The Cordello Quest.  Please Like, Share or Comment if you enjoy the post, so that we know to write the next letter in the series!

(Did you miss A is for Ascended Reikan? Read the first in our A-Z series here.)

A battle is not always a physical exchange of power, not always with sword hefted and lance raised. Battle is not always about brute force or carnage or bloodsoaked ground.

Sometimes battle is between minds . . . or even within mind: between thoughts which encourage and lift and inspire, and thoughts which drain and upset and block.

Some battles are simply the fight for acceptance over resistance: knowing when things can’t (or even shouldn’t) change and being honestly okay with it. Winning that little skirmish, and trusting that the way things are is okay (at least for the moment), can make life’s challenges much easier to overcome.

Most of us have this war of words and emotions as we do our best to live this human existence! (If you don’t, congratulations!)

In The Cordello Quest, there are many inner and outer battles, some physical, some mental or emotional. They’re every bit as important – perhaps even more so – than the outer battles waged and won (or lost). Mastery of ourselves is a lifelong pursuit!

Perhaps the key ‘battle’ scene in The Cordello Quest takes place in the town square of neighbouring country, Vornen. In the battle for light, the momentum is on the cusp of shifting from sword and soldier to one of mind and natural magic – if only the key characters will listen and act upon the wisdom arising from the quiet, still voice of intuition…

Oh, this series of posts is difficult to write without spoilers! 🙂 We hope you’ve enjoyed ‘B is for Battle’ – please let us know! Please share it if you enjoyed it. 🙂

What is your biggest – or hardest – ‘battle’? Is it an inner one – or an outer one?

A is for Ascended Reikan

Staircase to Heaven

This post is the first in an A-Z series linked with the first novel in our series: The Cordello Quest. We’re really looking forward to sharing more about the series and its characters with you! Please Like, Share or Comment if you enjoy the post, so that we know to write the next letter in the series!

So, what the heck is an Ascended Reikan?

And how can we tell you without ‘spoilers’? Hm, tricky . . . but let’s give it a shot. 😉

Reika (pronounced ‘Ray-kah’) is located close to Cordello. It is a place of extremely high energetic vibration, which has been created through living with harmony and understanding. Living in this way has allowed the inhabitants to evolve beyond the physical plane.

In its past, many Reikans – all of whom are now on the higher planes – studied crystals there, and used those energies in their daily lives. The crystal healers, practitioners and students knew of the unique frequencies transmitted by each type of stone, and learned to work synergistically with those energies for the benefit of all of Reika.

Crystals feature in the second half of The Cordello Quest. Given that both Ron and I (Joanna) love using and carrying crystals, it was simply impossible not to include them within the story. As with most elements of The Cordello Quest, they actually wrote themselves in. 😉

Ascended Reikans are those ‘souls’ who continue to work with lovelight and the Cordellans (and hopefully others) as a sort of spirit guide: encouraging, inspiring, motivating and guiding with great wisdom. A certain special someone, who has a significant impact on both Keira and Jason, has her very own interview right here. We always knew she’d do well in a starring role!

One thought to leave you with, if you haven’t yet read The Cordello Quest: How does a crystal tower feature in the story? 😉
