Yesterday I was sitting quietly, watching the clouds, layer upon layer of white, dove, grey, charcoal, and so many shades in between, all gliding in one direction or the other. Some were bright, some were dull; some rose up like glorious mountains, while others lay heavy and lethargic.
I watched through one window where the rain tipped from the sky, then closed my eyes for a few moments. When I opened them, a rainbow arced through the grey, and I wrote down a few words that felt right for the moment.
Within five minutes, I realised I’d been working them into a haiku, a simple form of poetry that I always enjoy writing.
So here it is! Thank you, Mother Nature, for inspiring us artists and creators with your magic.
