P is for what?!
.
Psychometry! It is an innate skill that Keira discovers while she is in Cordello.
.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines it as the “divination of facts concerning an object or its owner through contact with or proximity to the object”.
.
Precisely…
.
Now, the Lazuli Portals series is a work of fiction. However, there are many facets within the stories which are real, or based on personal experience. It is a multi-layered trilogy, and the truths that YOU discern within it may well differ from how someone else responds to it! That’s one of the reasons why we love it so much!

Below is an excerpt from The Cordello Quest:
As I read her name, a jolt of electricity pulsed through me. I felt the strangest, strongest connection with Aida, simply by touching her book and reading her words.
Charls noticed my reaction. “Keira? Is everything okay?”
A little shaken, I nodded my head. “I just had what felt like an electric shock. And I don’t think it’s static from your carpet,” I joked. I stroked the aged paper and received a muted version of the same sensation. “It’s like there’s some sort of power in the book, which I access when I touch it.” I looked up at Charls, wondering what his response would be. He had tears filming his eyes.
“Oh Keira . . . you are picking up Lady Aida’s energetic vibration through your hands. You must have a natural affinity and skill for reading energy from objects. You could be more valuable to us in our mission than we first thought possible. At present, there is no–one in Cordello with this ability. This must be why my inner guidance prompted me to give you her book.”
.
Later in The Cordello Quest, Keira’s newly-discovered skill with psychometry helps her to support Charls in the quest to save lovelight from those who would use it for ill.
.
Of course, Keira’s journey of spiritual awakening – her development as a lightworker, and her ability to work with subtle energies of all kinds – continues through Mosaic of Light and The Exile’s Blade. As her experiences in the other worlds expand, so her sensitivity to energy deepens. This extract is from The Exile’s Blade, the finale to our trilogy.

When I turned to the first page, a breath of malodorous heat flew into my face. Trying not to retch, and feeling that I might choke, I turned my head away from it until I thought it had passed. I wondered what had happened between my first use of this book, and now.
Turning the next page, an electrical jolt sent my mind whirling, and then I was outside, in the dark of night, looking up at a sky pulled tight with cloud. The air was still and cool. A wall of wheat or some other grain encircled the small space around me, their stems rustling quietly. Beyond, I sensed wide open spaces: acres of land, watered by streams bubbling through hundreds of huddles of trees. But I thought I felt a tension there, too, a waiting.
.
I have said that many facets of the trilogy are based on personal experience (although I do not claim to be an expert in psychometry, or to have all the answers!) I have had several experiences with what might be described as psychometry. Here is one of them.
.
I picked up my mp3 player (this was a few years before smartphones became the norm!) It had been set to Random, and there were over 1000 tracks on the device. I switched it on without looking at it. Just before I hit Play, a song began in my mind. Without giving it another thought, I pressed Play, and there it was … that same song. Some part of me had known what was coming up… This sort of thing had happened before (and has happened since!) but still, it’s always a surprise to me!
.

Keira’s experiences are a little different, as she elicits information which is a tad more useful to others! But then, she was pivotal to the quests in the trilogy, and a hero needs a bit of excitement, don’t you think? 😉

Do you have any accounts of your own to share? We’d love to hear about them!
