Welcome to one of our online homes! We are Joanna and Ron and write together as The Lazuli Portals. We write novels, short stories, flash fiction, and poetry.
The core themes throughout our novels are: spiritual awakening, natural magic (energy healing), synchronicities, crystals, friendship, developing intuition, and the incredible power of universal energy.
Our blog follows our journey as we write and publish our novels and short stories, and learn about self-publishing, marketing (and ourselves) along the way. We also share books that we’ve enjoyed or which have inspired us. Our old blog remains on our main website.
We also take part in Friday Fictioneers as often as possible – usually fortnightly. All writers (published and unpublished) are welcome to take part; and everyone is welcome to read both our stories and those posted by other Fictioneers. Our old flash fiction blog remains on our main website.
We’ve called our newsletter Creations. Each issue includes short prose and/or poetry written just for our subscribers. We also include our latest news, and links to our recent blog and flash fiction posts. You can subscribe to them for free! There’s a handy ‘Subscribe’ link at the top of this page.
To find out more about our writing, and to explore The Lazuli Portals series of inspirational fantasy novels, please wander through the various pages here, and/or visit our main website.

Happy New Year, Joanna π I’ve finally had a chance to begin your novel, been listening to Cordello Quest on my Kindle. Enjoying it very much! If I don’t finish it in the next few days, I’ll probably get to on my flight over to Dubai Friday, lol.

Well, I’ve tried lots of blog platforms over the years and it is by far the best and easiest to use; and of course in the web design company we use WordPress as the base software too. I really do rate it and you can do so much more with it and of course the community is fab π

Ease of use was quite a factor, Linda – unfortunately the Yola blogging ‘platform’ (part of our main website) is quite temperamental, and it was taking me three times longer to publish a post than it should have! The technical aspect of creating a new blog post was getting tiresome – and we want everything we do to be fun! So I’m glad you can confirm it’s a good place to be! Now that I follow so many WP blogs, it’s easier to have a home here, too!

It’ll be so much easier to keep up Joanna. I ended up turning off email notifications of updates because of the amount of email I got each day. With the notifications system on WordPress I can easily pop in and out when the time allows me to, AND I get the useful little orange button when someone replies to a comment I’ve left somewhere – so much handier than trying to remember everything you ever write … π
